What roles does Hill (2004) suggests the fans play in the construction of cult tv? How is new media central to this?

According to Hill (2004) that through the consideration what devoted fans of cult tv do is to express and shown their love to it, and also through the watchers passion for tv shows that the cult status arises ultimately (Hill, 2004)
As cult tv is the center importance to the cult fans as “lifestyles and identities” that such fans are keen to open, and defend and analyse their own consumption of cult TV. and also Hill mentions “it is worth nothing that this does not imply that cult fans will always resist processes of commercialism, or always define themselves against consumer.” (Hill,2004)
And to look back that Soap fans were the first type of fan to be studied by the TV scholars (Hill,2004) and also that soap fans are influential within the fans from their recent works studies. As it emphasised the activities and subcultures of soap fans, thus indicates to cult tv fans parallel to fans of soaps.
Fans of cult TV’s played a part of TV programmes into the category of ‘cult’ (Hill,2004). And clearly that soap fans are connected to a genre of TV programming that is clearly industry-defined. As fans prearranged TV programmes into a ‘intertextual network’ that was not identified as an industry-led generic grouping (Hill,2004). And furthermore the Cult tv fans in their own mind-set that they termed the word ‘cult’ as a network of texts as distinctive ‘telefantasy’.
And in addition that cult tv socially organised themselves as “appreciation Societies” as overtime in a TV programme, in tv shows may inspire a person following becoming a fan over time, and also gradually become a cult rather than necessarily being cult TV on its initial transmission. (Hill,2004). And furthermore that fans also produce their own commentaries, fanfictions, episode guides and even production histories in this case that it works to maintain the distinctiveness of fandom as a community thus reads the “intertexual networking”. And hill also mentions that “fans are able to produce such detail analyses and knowledgeable fictions thanks to the fact that they re-view much loved tv shows again and again.” (hill,2004) as the results a mass amounts of informations about the tv programmes, which in consists of their narrative worlds, the characters, and production details.
And lastly that the fans of cult tv they create a market for memorabilia’s, merchandises and props that relates to their obsessed tv shows.
